Vaccines are a proven, safe and powerful weapon in our battle against COVID-19. Now that vaccines are widely available and recognizing that many of our staff are already vaccinated, vaccination will be a condition of employment for new hires, except when impossible due to legitimate, established exceptions. The vaccine must be a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series approved by Health Canada. This is one more important step to protect both our residents and staff as we continue to battle this deadly virus.


Reporting to the Director, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), the OH&S Analyst will provide direction and expertise to internal stakeholders relating to occupational workplace incident management and Revera’s best practices inclusive of educational session as needed. The OH&S Analyst will assist the OHS Coordinator, as required, to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of occupational injuries to worker’s compensation boards across Canada.

Key Outcomes:

  • Support and foster the health and safety culture across the entire the organization; via OHS educational tools and program resources development;
  • Assist in the implementation and proper execution of the Revera Occupational Return-to-Work Program; and more specifically, Occupational Illness Management component;   
  • Minimize organizational financial liability related to Worker’s Compensation, Return to Work compliance and overall OHS compliance; and
  • Collaborate in the review and/or design of new OH&S policies and procedures in collaboration with Manager OH&S to ensure regulatory requirements and overall OHS compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input and submission of all occupational incident reports to applicable provincial worker’s compensation boards as needed and support the OH&S Coordinator to ensure legislated reporting requirement are implemented and engage internal stakeholders accordingly;
  • Report and communicate with OH&S agencies where applicable of legislated notification requirements;
  • Liaise with Worker’s Compensation Representative and Revera’s third party occupational claims management provider where required;
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on occupational claims management strategies and best practices;
  • Deliver coaching & educational session / webinar on an ad-hoc basis to internal stakeholders;
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Revera OH&S Claims Management Reporting System. Support internal stakeholders with related inquiries as well as technical guidance information and education;
  • Provide direction on internal OH&S tools and resources to internal stakeholders applicable to occupational workplace incident management as required;
  • Participate in OH&S occupational reporting management program review and evaluation;
  • Provide general OH&S support to internal stakeholders inclusive of the Revera OH&S Centre of Expertise:
    • Assist with the development of new information to Enterprise Intranet as well as monitoring and updating existing information
    • Coordinate all related internal OH&S communication
    • Participate in OH&S program compliance review and enhance requirement inclusive of the development of new e-learning and/or educational material
    • Assist to revision and update H&S policies and procedures as required by regulatory requirements, changes in business needs/strategic initiative or new workplace hazards;
  • Liaise with the worker’s compensation boards on claims related matter, appeals and financial assessment as needed to assist with OH&S data reporting/analysis;
  • Generate OH&S management reports as required;
  • Analyze OHS statistics and trends to assist with ongoing improvement of Revera’s OHS programs;
  • Research current legislative change and ensure overall compliance with Revera’s program;
  • Collaborate in Provincial Prevention Program strategy and program management implementation;
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of Conduct; and
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in OH&S or related field is required;
  • CHRP designation, or in progress is an asset;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the OH&S field;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Advanced computer skills;
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • Goal oriented team player and works well with all levels of employees and management;
  • Research and analytical skill;
  • Experience and/or knowledge with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act; and
  • Experience and/or knowledge of WSIB/WCB standards, regulations and procedures.
