Reporting to the Director, Investment Performance, the Co-Op Student is responsible for supporting the various Investment Management teams (Property Development, Asset Management, Investment Partnerships, Corporate Development) towards the successful delivery of Revera’s development pipelines. This role will provide support to the teams through the full project life cycle of new developments from conception, underwriting, approvals, development, construction, and turnover to the operations team. This role will also provide a meaningful learning opportunity to the successful candidate.

Key Outcomes:

  • Assist members of the Investment Management team in coordinating development activities among various internal workstreams, the development team, and external consultant teams;

  • Support the analyst team in completing financial models, performing due diligence, preparing investment memos for; acquisitions, developments, divestitures, and asset management strategies; and

  • Track performance of historical acquisitions and developments to underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Property Development Team to advance projects through a staged approval process from the site identification stage to project close out;

  • Assist Project Managers with research and compilation of data necessary to complete staged approval memos and progress reports in a timely manner;

  • Assist in preparing asset specific strategies on sites that require major capital upgrades, renovations, and repositioning due to market conditions and monitor capital investments;

  • Provide analytical support and coordinate activities with respect to conducting due diligence on various opportunities;

  • Attend client meetings regarding new and ongoing projects;

  • Other duties within this role as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in a co-op program (preferably with a real estate focus);

  • Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry;

  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;

  • Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required;

  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills;

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail;

  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; and

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
