So that everyone under our roof is given the opportunity to thrive, grow and make the most of every day.The Physiotherapy Assistant works under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist and provides care to clients in the community environment or health institution. Key Responsibilities - In conjunction with Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist, develops implements and evaluates individualized therapy programs. - Co-ordinates current Stretch and Strut Ambulation Program and Physio/Exercise classes, as outlined on monthly Activation calendar. - Provides daily therapy as instructed in the absence of Physio/Occupational Therapist. - Instruct staff in regards to ongoing care requirements for Residents. - Develops and maintains up-to-date individual resident care plans through interdisciplinary care conferences and care planning. - Maintains accurate and complete clinical records on all residents according to established documentation policies and procedures and ensure confidentiality of these records. - Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, families, visitors and other staff members. - Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavours to respect and promote it. Ensures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted. - Ensures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted. - Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents). - Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera's Code of Conduct. - Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Must be a graduate of Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Certificate program from a recognized Community College. - Must have demonstrated ability with comprehensive knowledge of Physio/OT practices and techniques as they relate to the Long Term Care Resident at various levels of cognitive functioning. - Proficiency in a second language is an asset. - Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
